Here is a recent swimming pool accident that occurred in the Decatur area:
- In July 2011, a 7-year-old boy was pronounced dead at Decatur Memorial Hospital after a fatal swimming pool accident. He was on a field trip with his daycare center to Sun n’ Fun Swim & Golf Club. Lifeguards found him only after the accident, when he had no pulse at the bottom of the pool.
